How do you remove pal nuts?
The cap and roller are held onto the shaft by a pal nut. The best way to remove the pal nut is to grab it with a pair of pliers and rock it back and forth until the pal nut deforms enough to pull off the end of the shaft. A pal nut is a one-time use product.
What are spring nuts?
Spring nuts are one-piece, self-locking nuts that secure screws in strut channels. They consist of a nut with grooves on the side that fit over side of the channel edge, a spring to hold the nut in place during installation and a threaded screw hole.
What is a Pushnut?

What’s the difference between a lock nut and a jam nut?

How do speed nuts work?
A Speed Nut is a reusable, one-piece, self-locking fastener made of thin, heat-treated spring steel. Two prongs arch upward from the screw hole, and the fastener base is usually bowed. When the screw is tightened, the arch in the base diminishes, forcing the prongs inward and upward at the root of the threads.
