Why is my FoodSaver blinking dry and moist?

Is my FoodSaver vacuum sealer v3880 replaceable?
My Foodsaver vacuum sealer, model V3880 would not completely suck out all the air and then seal the bag. The machine has one rubber gasket and one foam gasket, which the manual says are not replaceable. I called Foodsaver customer service and they verified that information. The rep said that I would just need to replace the machine. That sucks.
