When Special Summoning them from the Extra Deck, they will still be Special Summoned to either an Extra Monster Zone or your Main Monster Zone a Link Monster’s Link Arrow is pointing to. When Special Summoning them from outside of the Extra Deck, they will be Special Summoned to your Main Monster Zone.
